20 Awakening (Judgement)

The Awakening Card (traditional Judgement) - Tarot of Empowerment Deck by Judith Sult and Gordana Curtis

Release old paradigms and patterns
Listen to your intuition
Choose freedom
Celebrate who you are and soar to your highest potential

Awakening represents the choice to move beyond the limitations of the past and ascend to a higher life purpose. This card represents a shift in consciousness that releases old paradigms of consciousness and dogma that restrict or compromise the authentic self.

Awakening often indicates a time of reaching a knowingness that is beyond those around you. This card is about listening to your higher self by using a combination of reasoning and intuition.

In the Tarot of Empowerment, the Awakening card depicts a woman emerging from her old self of restrictions of her outmoded beliefs to celebrate new structures and self-worth. She is pregnant with her own potential. She has contemplated, evaluated, and integrated the fundamental truth of who she is.

Upright: When the Awakening comes up in your reading, it indicates you already had, or will have, an epiphany that has the possibility to free you. You will come to the realization about what changes you need to make in your life to be on the path of your destiny. You have awakened to a new sense of purpose and forgiven the past in order to get on with your life. You are being rewarded for your efforts and the work you have completed.

Empowerment:  You are empowered to discard the old models and celebrate yourself as you move to the next stage in your life and ascend past the old and outdated self.

Reversed: You feel as though you can’t wake up and that your work as not been appreciated or rewarded. As a block, Awakening suggests you are clinging to old belief systems, which are keeping you from moving forward to reach your goals.

Numerology: Awakening is card number 20 in the Tarot, which reduces to 2. The number 2 is about balancing polarities. Other cards with the number 2 are High Priestess (2) and Justice (11).
